It's that time of year again! Ramadan is here and many of us pay our Zakat during this blessed month to reap the highest reward. But how many of us actually know about this pillar of Islam? Do we honour this pillar, by learning about its details and how to offer it in the best way possible, the way we do with Salah?
Some of the most common questions we receive include:
Sh. Abdullah Anik Misra (@abdullah.misra) embraced Islam in 2001 while at the University of Toronto, from where he completed a Bachelor of Business Administration. He then studied the Arabic language and Islamic sciences in Tarim, Yemen, as well as Darul Uloom in Trinidad, West Indies. He holds a BA in Islamic Studies (Alimiyya, Darul Uloom) and authorization in the six authentic books of Hadith, and completed one year of specialized training in issuing Islamic legal verdicts (ifta’). He is a religious counsellor with Canadian Muslim Counselling and an independent instructor and scholar in the Islamic Sciences.
