The Evacuee Challenge

For those seeking refuge in Canada, the journey is just the beginning. They arrive in search of safety and stability, yet the challenges that follow are immense - grappling with deep mental trauma, the heartbreak of losing homes, jobs, and loved ones, and the relentless worry for family still in danger. In the face of such loss, the least we can do is stand with them, providing the critical support they need to rebuild, regain independence, and find a sense of peace.

Nasira’s Story

Nasira’s life was shattered by the Syrian war, forcing her to flee to Turkey in search of safety—only to endure another tragedy when she lost her husband and sons in the devastating 2023 earthquake.

Alone and struggling, she made her way to Canada, hoping for a fresh start. But despite her resilience, she faced overwhelming financial hardship, unable to afford rent or even basic necessities.

That’s when a friend introduced her to NZF. With your generosity, we provided the support she needed to rebuild.

Today, Nasira has a stable home, the essentials to survive, and the space to heal from her grief—one step closer to reclaiming her future.
