Beyond the Classroom
For families starting over in Canada, children can face challenges that go beyond simply attending school. They may be learning in a new language, adjusting to a different education system, or struggling with subjects their parents cannot help them with at home.
Tutoring, mentorship, educational resources, and Islamic schooling can provide the additional support they need. But for families already struggling to afford rent, food, and other essentials, these costs can be out of reach.
The Child Education Fund helps cover these educational needs for eligible children and families, so financial hardship does not prevent them from accessing the support they need.

34% of youth-serving organizations identified inadequate language proficiency as a barrier to achieving educational objectives.
76% identified lack of money for basic needs such as food or clothing as a barrier for youth.
Newcomer parents are more likely to have limited knowledge of the education curriculum and services available to their children.
Our Programs
Tutoring & Mentorship
When a child is struggling with school, extra support can make a real difference. Tutoring strengthens academic skills, while mentorship gives children guidance, encouragement, and someone in their corner.
Islamic School Scholarship Fund
For families who want their children to grow in their faith alongside their education, the cost of Islamic learning can be difficult to manage. Support can help eligible children access Islamic schools, Hifz and Quran programs, or Friday and Sunday schools.
How You Can Help
$50 — Support a Child
Help provide tutoring, learning materials, or other educational support.
$200 — Support Their Learning
Help provide ongoing academic or Islamic education support.
$500 — Invest in Their Education
Help cover broader educational needs for an eligible child.
Frequently Asked Questions
Your donations will be directed to education-related support for eligible children and families through NZF’s programs. In the case of necessity, funds will be directed towards supporting eligible beneficiaries as most urgently needed. This program is Zakat-eligible.
