NZF Came to my Aid and Helped Me Back on my Feet

Allah’s help was always near. And NZF came to my aid and helped me get back on my feet.

Coming to a new country with an electrical engineering degree from back home proved to be nothing short of heartbreak and disappointment. I went from having a career to searching for a shelter that would take me in. I thought I’d get back onto my feet. I thought this was just temporary, but then I developed schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

My mood fluctuated intensely for long periods of time and the strain tore my marriage apart. The pain became unbearable and my only way out was in the comfort of a drink that numbed me or a cigarette that kept me from hunger.

I had nothing left.

Then I came across National Zakat Foundation and made the conscious decision to reach out. They came to my aid and helped me get back onto my feet. I started to receive treatment for my illness and began attending the masjid again. Allah’s help was always near.

NZF even helped me find a place to live. There’s a lot I still need to do but I’m grateful to NZF for helping me get back on track.
