Rania's Story: A Struggle that Unites
After arriving in Canada from their war-torn homeland, a pregnant Rania and her family were greeted with unemployment, homelessness and a constant struggle to make sure their children were fed.
A practicing accountant back home, Rania's husband could not find a job in his field as he lacked Canadian experience. And unable to afford a newer car meant that he couldn't even drive Uber to provide for his expecting wife and two small children.
The shelter itself had unsuitable living conditions and lack of proper food, leading to Rania and her children falling ill often. They couldn't afford their own place, with whatever welfare they received going towards baby supplies for their youngest and just enough food for them to stay alive.
It all seemed hopeless, with no end to the pain and hardships in sight.
When they turned to NZF for help, they didn't know what kind of assistance to expect. Alhumdulillah, we were able to help the family cover their food expenses and combined with their welfare, help them move into a suitable place to live with a peace of mind.
