Panelist 1: Areeb Bajwa
Areeb Bajwa is the founder of Kalaam, the fastest and easiest way to learn the Arabic of the Quran. Areeb started coding at the age of 10 and has created software that span everything from games to SEO. His love of deen has led him down a new path, where he hopes to bridge people’s hearts to the book of Allah.
Panelist 2: Mohamed Moussa
Mohamed Moussa is the co-founder and CTO of Tarteel. He is extremely passionate about working on products that bring measurable value to people and communities on a global scale. He has previously worked at leading technology and education companies including Facebook and Coursera, and now enjoys the privilege of dedicating his expertise and passion to developing the Islamic technology ecosystem.
Panelist 3: Majid Mirza
Majid Mirza is Founder/CEO of ESGTree, a technology and advisory platform focused on Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) and impact management for financial institutions. He was awarded the Globe & Mail's Changemaker Award in 2023, LinkedIn's ‘Top 15 Voices in the Green Economy’, and is a global expert on impact investing and ESG. Majid has headed impact investing divisions at various organizations and is a founding board member of the Canada Forum for Impact Investing and Development (CAFIID). Previous to launching ESGTree in 2020, he consulted on ESG strategy, reporting, and integration for over a dozen private equity firms as well as foundations and federal government entities. Majid’s doctoral research is on ESG in private capital markets. He regularly lectures at conferences and universities on the topic of ESG, impact investing, and sustainable finance with a particular focus on reporting and disclosure practices.
