These were the words of Safi, a woman whose life was full of challenges. Safi emigrated from Lebanon about three years ago along with her spouse and children, with the hopes of finding peace and providing the proper assistance for her intellectually disabled child. They have been part of the 76,000 people who remained displaced within their own country. Alhamdulillah! Due to the stresses of the abrupt move and the difficulty adapting to their new environment, Safi began to notice her husband’s physical conditions of chronic pain becoming exasperated and ultimately leading him to permanently sink into psychotraumatic disability. Alhamdulillah!

If I told you, a successful restaurant manager, married to an inspirational teacher, with four healthy children, that you’d be unemployed one day, would you believe me? Maybe. What if I told you that there will come a day when you would be broke to the point that your children would ask you for a few dollars to buy a drink or a chocolate bar, and you would search your pants pocket to only find the remains of an old tissue paper?

I am Ayesha, a new mother living in Canada by myself. I am a domestic abuse survivor and this is my story.I was arranged by my family to marry a man twice my age, left my loved ones in Pakistan to live with him and his parents in Calgary.That is when the abuse started.

I am Ahmad, a syrian refugee and a proud father of two beautiful children and this is my Story.I worked hard for my engineering degree from the University of Aleppo. I married the love of my life and we had two beautiful children; a boy and a girl. Wishing a bright and respectable future for my kids, I sent them to International School of Aleppo.
